Toutefois, les chercheurs sont loin de comprendre son fonctionnement au niveau mol\u00e9culaire. Ce projet portera sur la contribution des facteurs g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques aux maladies li\u00e9es au syst\u00e8me immunitaire, notamment : 1) les maladies incurables ou les maladies end\u00e9miques ne disposant d\u2019aucun traitement efficace dont surtout celles associ\u00e9es au virus de l\u2019immunod\u00e9ficience humaine (VIH) et de l\u2019h\u00e9patite C (VHC); 2) les maladies inflammatoires, par exemple, la polyarthrite rhumato\u00efde; 3) le rejet des greffes d\u2019organes et de moelle osseuse.<\/p>\n<p>Les chercheurs analyseront les g\u00e8nes associ\u00e9s au contr\u00f4le du syst\u00e8me immunitaire, \u00e9tudieront le r\u00f4le du receveur (ou de l\u2019h\u00f4te) pour expliquer pourquoi les traitements qui modulent le syst\u00e8me immunitaire donnent des r\u00e9sultats chez certains et non chez d\u2019autres et concevront une simulation informatique des m\u00e9canismes mol\u00e9culaires associ\u00e9s aux maladies associ\u00e9es au syst\u00e8me immunitaire.<\/p>\n<p>Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019information ainsi recueillie, les scientifiques seront bien mieux plac\u00e9s pour mettre au point les th\u00e9rapies n\u00e9cessaires qui contr\u00f4leront ou qui renforceront le syst\u00e8me immunitaire. Un consortium de scientifiques et d\u2019entreprises priv\u00e9es, du Canada et des \u00c9tats-Unis, notamment des chercheurs de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al, du J.P.
